I would simply rotate the pic before posting. Use the
Go Advanced option
Preview Post to view before posting.
I've uploaded random pics in portrait and landscape and they uploaded correctly.
It just maybe the camera position or orientation.
I know it happens once in awhile on here But I personally have not had issue
