Then while you wait for your food, the restaurant declares bankruptcy, another restaurant buys the recipes (i.e. intellectual property) and opens right back up with essentially the same menu at higher prices and starts taking new orders. Your order number is no longer valid, and the owner of the first restaurant who took your money at the register is still working behind the counter for the new restaurant making the exact same item that you ordered.
