I'd try bleeding it again before I started swapping out parts. It's most likely nothing to do with the different types of fluids.
I might be remembering wrong, but I seem to remember that if the abs block goes dry you need a shop with a consult machine to bleed that. Again, I could be wrong but it's worth a check after you bleed it.
