$25 doesn't include any insurance coverage and fuel; it's probably for a subcompact or a compact. In case you have never been to the US, the roads are wide and straight (yes, boring), so try to get a vehicle that's larger in size with a larger engine (I lean toward V8 heavily) so it can cruise in the (boring) highways and freeways in a relaxed and comfortable manner. Fuel prices are relatively very cheap compared to UK and all of Europe, so even a gas guzzler (by today's standards) wouldn't cost much to operate.
