What revs is this happening at? do any lights flash, or turn on then off? mods?
The car learns your driving style and if your a slow and steady driver then one day decide to haul *** down the road it will not react in a desired way (unless using the paddle-shifters or the "Slap-stick" version) it may cut power to the engine because that's its learned process.
Driving in "D" is awful for me and I feel as if it takes forever to shift when im gunning it. You could have been stuck between gear changes and reved too much hit the rev limited and then the engine cut power, or something similar.
If there is no foreseeable problems with the car I think it can be chocked up as an anomaly
