O2 sensor sounds like a wiring problem. See FSM for schematics, connector pinouts, wiring routing, &c. A tune is pretty much required when modding both intake and exhaust.

The problem on the ramp may be fuel starvation if you were below a quarter tank or so and enjoying the lateral Gs. Lot's of threads on this site about this problem.
