90w or 85w
Hey all,
So, you all seem correct on that clutch chatter being from the aftermarket (single mass) clutch/flywheel setup. It isn't a bad sound on cold startup, but once the engine warms up it really gets to talking. It's not a massive deal to me, but I feel like people are thinking my tranny is ground up whenever I'm in low RPMs applying throttle, but I did find that a heavier weight of transmission oil can help mitigate the sound. I've seen a lot of good for both 85w and 90w from Redline, but I can't determine which would be best for my climate. I'm in Northern VA so we get the extremes (upper 90s and humidity in the summer, single 20s and teens in the winter). I'm afraid that the 90w will help in the warmer weather, but when the winter comes it may become extremely difficult to shift. Does anyone have luck in this area with either weight to know which is best/better, and how much of an impact it truly makes on shifting in the winter or when cold?
Thanks in advance!
