How did you manage to make it work? I spent several hours troubleshooting this yesterday. I have a Base 370z with Sports package. The wires on the car side are red (with grey-blue ASWC wire soldered to it) and dark blue (with grey-pink wire soldered to it). Head unit is Kenwood. ASWC red wire is connected to 12V switched wire (the one that has power only when ignition is ON), Ground (black wire) is connected to the car frame.
When turned on I get 7 green blinks (have no idea what this sequence means), then 2 red blinks (which appears to be my Kenwood being detected). Then ASWC goes into continuous red-green blinking mode.
When I try to reset ASWC following the manual (press Reset 3 seconds after ignition is turned on, hold for 10 seconds, then release) I get red-green blinking continuously.
I also tried the opposite: grey-pink to red and grey-blue to blue. I get exactly the same result.
I have the most fresh version of firmware on ASWC. The only thing I didn't try yet is force re-install the firmware and try installing the device again.

Hello sir,
The 7 blinks indicate which wires are connected. For example if wires 2 and 7 were connected you would get the 7 green sequence like this short (1), long (2), short (3), short (4), short (5), short (6), long (7).
You are correct that the 2 red flashes are it recognizing your head unit (not sure if kenwood is 2 but you seem to be, I recall that some units had two settings, like pioneer had 2 so check that as well.
If you are getting no long blinks then no wires are connected. What I found was wrong with my system was that I had a bad connection therefore it was accepting 0 button inputs from my commands.
In my case, I had gray-pink to red and gray-blue to blue. And this was correct for me. I am using a Clarion NX702 but this doesn't matter when it comes to connecting wires. I would recommend using this setup as that's what worked for me.
Step 1: in the trouble shooting process is to check and make sure you get long blinks from the first 7 flashes. If not, check all your connections and possibly swap your wires to my setup. The long flashes are very noticeable, initially I was worried that I wouldn't be able to distinguish the long from the short.
Step 2: Confirm that 2 flashes is the correct setting for your kenwood, if not, reprogram to the proper setting as per the manual.
Step 3: See if you can even enter auto programming mode, which was hold the seek up key if I recall correctly. After I was wired up correctly, the auto program made my volume up and volume down buttons work, confirming the operation of the system. Then manual programming of all the buttons took about 2 minutes.
Step 4: if you get long flashes (confirming wires connected), you confirm the 2 red flashes indeed represents your head unit, and cannot progress past the red green flashing stage. There is still an error but I'm guessing this will fix it. I'm guessing your problem is either bad connections or swapped wires. I'm an EE student and I ended up having a bad connection, it can happen to anyone.
