Yes, I don't know about hacking but those devices posted in the first page are RF amplifiers... It picks up the signal from your key fob from up to 300 meters. Like posted in the first page too, There are little RF blocking pouches you can buy that will block this signal.
I do neighborhood watch in my little town and in 1 night a thief went on a stroll and used one of these devices to get into a New Charger, Ford F150 SVT Raptor, BMW 530IT, Buick Regal GS and another car I can't remember... Over the course of a few weeks he broke in to several other cars the same way and stole 2 cars... A 2014 Mini Pooper S and a Lexus GX460 both found a few towns over without damage. Since our cars are keyless like the 2 that were stolen it can be used to start and drive the car away.
I saw the guy the night he got into the Raptor, I know it was him because I saw him a few blocks away at 2AM holding an ipad... An Ipad was stolen from the Raptor and the location tracker cloud thingy was turned off around that same time. He stopped once I posted a description of the guy and we haven't had anything happen since (he was definitely on the neighborhoods facebook page or someone recognized him from my description and told him he's been spotted).
