Sump pump took care of the basement - we had water POURING out of the wall where the sewer goes out (about 3' off the basement floor) but the water never got more than 1.5" deep.

Yeah we *know* the wife is getting a new car, in any case, so it's just a matter of getting insurance to total her car or fix it and then it goes bye-bye.

Mine is uncertain at this point. It's worth maybe $17K, so it would take a lot to total it. I have a feeling they'll try to say they'll clean the interior up and it's "good as new" but like I say... What kind of weird **** is going to go wrong in 6 months after all that water got in there badly enough that the remote unlock didn't work and the alarm was going crazy?

Diminished value due to flood repair/insurance claim on the CarFax, potential future issues that are probably related to water damage that didn't get fixed (like say, the wheel bearings fail at 20K miles) and all that kind of crap.

I'm probably screwed.
