I've got the base wheels too. Been researching next tires. Check TireRack . They have acceptable rim width listed under the specs for various tires. Look up your potential tire "Continental Extreme Contact".

I'm looking at going 245 up front and 265 on the rear and the charts say both fall within the allowable rim width for us. 8" wide up front 9" wide in rear.

You can compare diameters too, to avoid the traction control issues.
