Z's and G's prior to 2007 (before the HR engine) used an external slave cylinder with a clutch fork pushing on it. This is pretty easy for maintenance because there's no need to drop the entire transmission to service the slave cylinder. With an internal slave (CSC), it pretty much lightened up the clutch effort. Lots of cars use CSC nowadays, but all of them eventually face the same issue with leaking and whatnot. The Valeo-sourced CSC body is all plastic, which is one of the factors contributing to these problems. For mine, the o-ring on the piston slipped off. I don't even track my car, drag raced, or even dumped the clutch. There was never a situation where the pedal sunk itself to the floor other than the stiffness in the winter.

Anyway, the elimination kit ditches the internal slave for an external and fork setup.
