The Stillen kit allows for a bit more airflow as the heat exchanger doesn't block the radiator, as i understand it. Which also means that the oil cooler can stay in the airflow.
The standard stillen kit does, but most upgrade to a front mount cooler to help with rising temps so it does block some air flow. Though not nearly the same as a TT FMIC, but it seems from what I have read the main things are:
-Getting air into the proper places
-Getting hot air out effectively & quickly

I think many people focus on the coolers, larger front air intakes, etc. but forget that the hot air needs to get out of the engine bay which does not happen easily from factory. So vented hood, fender liners, etc can be larger factors.
