They are noted as one-use washers in the service manual And IMO they are not expensive enough to bother reusing (even at the full retail price of ~$2.50/washer). I did once in a pinch when the dealer screwed up and only had one washer for me (again... idiots smdh). But if you look closely, they are definitely layered and do crush slightly. You could also probably reuse the copper crush washer on the oil drain plug if you really wanted to. I choose not to. YMMV

Are you confusing the copper crush washer on the oil drain plug for the aluminum washer/gasket for transmission/differential fill/drain plugs? Not sure what you're getting at with your second statement
