To disable the yaw sensor, you can cut the green wire going to it (it's the Bosch sensor in the center console). Or you can wire up a switch - I used a factory seat heater switch to enable/disable mine.

Re: 285s in front - tires work best on proper width wheels, and ideal is usually when wheel width is about the same as tire width (1 inch of wheel width) = 25mm of tire width. That means a 285 tire works best on a ~11.5" wheel, much wider than the stock 9's. That doesn't mean 225's (~9" wide) tires are best on the stock front wheels, only that you're getting to a point of diminishing returns. The tire's construction also matters a lot too - something like a Hoosier A6/7 is designed to work well when "pinched" on a narrow wheel, but normal street tires aren't.
