That is correct. The cupholder should just pop out with a bit of easy force. The blanks/switches can be a bit more difficult. I use a couple of plastic panel removal tools to pry up the plastic lips that hold each button on two sides. Once you have the tabs on the button clear, you can just push the button out from the bottom.
