I had the steering wheel lock issue last Friday on my '09 370Z. I took it to the dealership, and got charged $1127.52 !!!
The dealership claimed that they've already replaced it back in 2013. Nissan corporate wouldn't reimburse me for their defective part, claiming that I am out of warranty (parts warranty = 1yr or 12k miles). This is a very ridiculous warranty for a
NON WEAR-&-TEAR part. I even explained to her that replacement part could be defective as well, since it failed in less than 2 yrs!!!
This is really disappointing on Nissan part, and I'm wondering if there is a class action lawsuit going on for this or maybe we should start one up. I spoke with Trish, and she directed me to mail any legal stuff to :
NISSAN USA Consumer Affairs
P.O. Box 685003
Franklin , TN 37068
So if there IS a class action lawsuit going on for this, let me know, I'd like to jump in. If not, let's get enough disgruntled owners and sue Nissan for this travesty. This will be the LAST time me or my family ever buys any NISSAN product!
