First I'll list the issues:
- When depressed, clutch makes no noise. When foot is pulled off clutch quickly (sitting in neutral), it almost makes a snapping sound when fully disengaged and then you can hear a rotational and fluttering-type noise like something is loose.

This transmission chatters all the time when not engaged. Just wait, it gets worse when you go to a lightweight flywheel. Not saying something isn't wrong but if the noise goes away completely when you engage the clutch pedal and is non-existent when in gear, it's likely status quo.

- Pedal feel is lighter than a friend's Z, albeit he is using GTR clutch fluid (unsure how much this plays part).

Your buddy might have the helper spring removed/replaced. The factory pedal has almost no feel to it at all. Take the spring out or google the replacement helper spring some guy on here sells them.

B) If I've given enough information and the issue is in fact the clutch assembly, what set up would you recommend for a light street/autoX application?

See below

C) Will Redline fluid correct this issue?

Doubt it but if you want to swap fluid, see below

Thanks!
Note - If it is truly a transmission issue, you can chase clutch/CSC/fluid issues all day and it's not going to fix anything. If you really think it's a true issue take it to the dealer and have it diagnosed. You don't have to have them fix it. You can just figure out what's 'wrong' and come up with a game plan. If you are going to take it to a different shop I'd recommend buying the parts you want and just pay the shop labor. Only issue there is you are on the hook if the parts you received have any issues.

If you are thinking of replacing the factory fluid go with Motul RBF600. Regardless if it fixes your issue or not you want to replace the OEM fluid with a high quality synthetic.

If you are going to auto-cross I also recommend buying some thermo-tec heat sleeve and wrapping the clutch line leading to the CSC. These cars produce a lot of heat and you want to prevent the fluid from boiling. Probably not a bad idea to do it anyway but definitely if you are going to put the car thru any 'track' level stresses.

If you replace the clutch I recommend the Z1 full-face with lightweight flywheel. Reasonably priced, stock engagement level and although it's stiffer it's not horrible to daily.

Make sure you also pick up the ZSpeed HD CSC

It's also recommended to replace the CMC with an OEM replacement anytime you have to completely drain the system (i.e. CSC replacement)
