honestly the general sound is the same for certain options just with slight variances in overall volume and cabin noise.

the SS or CF mufflers will alter the overall sound/tone
also any change of oem cats to HFC, TP, RTP, RHFC will also change the sound/tone and the less restrictive versions will also increase volume.

the resonator sizes don't change the volume all that much but more or less will smooth out the tone and reduce cabin noise.

also i'm sure tony and the guys you've spoken to have said all this lol just figured i'd throw it out there for others as well.

if you want the FI sound and lower volume I would suggest SS cans for a deeper tone and CF cans for a more exotic tone. personally I prefer the CF.

if you're not a fan of hearing the drone of the exhaust then 18" will work for you maybe even 12".

you want to get the amazing power gains maximized then throw them stock cats away and get HFC. little extra volume and little extra power.

in the end it's best to just do your research and ask many questions.

you honestly cannot go wrong with FI.
