It would have been smarter to get the model with the paddle shifters if that's what you wanted. It's much easier to trade for the base wheels - people sell them pretty cheap on the forum.
Not sure anyone has added paddle shifters to a base AT without them. You might be paving the way if that's what you really want. And I'm sure it will cost far more than the difference between the models
