It's easy to say after the fact but rarely is anything gained by swerving from what you see coming into what you don't see. That's the instinct, though.
My last experience, fortunately with my beater, was swerving from a nicer car who didn't look before an impatient lane change to someone else's hooptie in my blind spot. In retrospect I should have turned in to that bimmer.
Who also sped off without so much as a courtesy middle finger.
