Anyway, I am not hating on you.. but at the same time don't want to make a fool of myself by paying $500 under invoice when people have paid $1500-$2400 under invoice.

No one is saying they are actually lying...its just that most people tend to stretch or exaggerate what actually occurred in the transaction and then go on to "commit" to the belief to reconcile the reality they have to face inside their head. Its the old rationalization game...and there isn't one person here that hasn't done it in one thing or another in their lifetime.
As for you saying "[I] don't want to make a fool of myself by paying $500 under invoice when people have paid $1500-$2400 under invoice".....consider $500 undeer invoice a win and nothing to feel foolish about. There has never been a car in my entire life that I was able to get the dealer down to below invoice...and I have bought ten
new cars in my lifetime that I can remember. Never once did I consider myself a fool because:
1. You can't thake the money with you.
2. Life has a way of evening itself out over the entire span of an average lived life.
3. There is absolutely no rule in life that says you have to always take out of life as much as you end up putting into it.
If you can get the car for $500 under invoice then just buy it and start enjoying what you want to buy.
