That's an ignorant statement. Not all exhaust shops provide hack jobs.

The best bet is to find local auto enthusiasts and ask for their opinions which shop does the best work. Usually a hot rod-type shop is the best, but their work, while exemplary, usually is not cheap. You may find that the AAM short tails are a cheaper alternative since the price for a pair of good exhaust tips are ridiculous nowadays. I've been entertaining the idea of using a pair of short straight-through stainless steel mufflers to tone down the noises. Unfortunately, by the time the total price of two mufflers and two tips is considered, I might as well buy a pre-made axle-back for only a little more.
