These systems are very time consuming to install so expect $400+ for install from a competent installer. I had a very similar system in my last car, a Viper 5901. I never had any issues with it and it had a really good feature set. I used it on both hot and cold days to get the cabin temp nice and comfy. You could actually check the cabin temp from the remote and the range was excellent. Realistically I got anywhere from 1/2 to 1 mile out of it depending on the obstacles (buildings, hills, etc.)

As an alternative I know there's someone on this forum that makes a plug and play remote start module for our cars (automatics only) so you wouldn't have to add aftermarket remotes and pay for labor.
