These side shields direct air into the radiator by sealing the space between the bumper cover and frame at each side. I cut out the circular section in the center to allow airflow to the intake and filter and reinstalled the driver side, but the right side will need more work to fit around the new washer reservoir, hose, and wiring. I noticed at first drive after installation my oil temp was 25 degrees higher than with the shields intact and stock intake. I attribute this to some air that used to flow through the radiator now being diverted to the intake. It will be interesting to see after I further modify the right side shield and reinstall it whether the temp will decrease to previous levels or remain slightly elevated.
