I couldn't tell by the pics alone, but having paddle shifters that allow you to shift a lil sooner without having a special mode for them would be retarted. Then again, why did they add the standard +/- part of the tranny if the paddle shifters are already there? I'm confused, anyone want to chime in?
Oh yea, in the press conference the guy was saying that the auto has been improved to be as close to manual as possible. Sounds too good to be true!

You'll be able to shift the 370Z with the paddle shifters only or you'll be able to use the auto-stick exclusively if you want. There is no special mode for the paddle shifters all you have to do is pull on them at any time while driving and they'll upshift/downshift. With the auto-stick if you move the gear selector to the right and then shift using the auto-stick you have to continue to shift this way unless you move the gear selector back to the left (fools many people, esp. at stoplights because in some cars it doesn't stay in auto-stick mode). My G35 has the same setup with the same paddle shifters and they work good, I don't notice a delay when using either the paddle shifters or the auto-stick. On the G35 there is also a mode called DS (Drive sport) and if you move the gear selector into this mode and leave it there it makes the car shift more aggressively. I'm interested to see if this feature makes it into the 370Z. It's possible the 2007/08 350Z has this feature but I'm not sure...
