Depends on what you want...street tire that grips pretty well or race tire that can be streetable?

IMO the RE-11 was never a true "extreme performance" tire. I've always thought of it as a max performance tire along with the PSS.

Looks like Tirerack finally threw up the initial tests of the RE-71r and it looks like it's a far superior tire to the RE-11.

Also, for those running 275/305 or similar, I think this tire run 275 square would grip a lot better than the RE-11 would at 275/305. Compound is more important than size for the most part, since friction is independent of surface area and width is only there for wear and heat expulsion/retention . Plus with 275/275 you get the added benefit of running square to greatly reduce the understeer issue
