Yeah, sorry for derailing your thread, Suns.

Ditto on what Duc added. I rarely change gears with the shifter, but, of course, if there is something wrong, I would want it fixed. If I'm understanding you correctly, when you have the shifter in the left position and push forward to go up a gear, the tranny "defaults" back to auto mode. If that is happening, then yes, something is wrong.

As a side note, when you are in auto mode and want to down shift, simply pull back and hold the left paddle, and the transmission will go in to manual mode and step down a gear. Once you stop using the paddles, it will go back to auto mode by itself.
