NITIAL REVIEW:

Ok, so I gave them a good workout in warm weather in the Malibu hills today. My immediate impressions about tread noise and hardish ride quality remain, but when you're canyon carving it just doesn't matter. These are the best performing street tires that Bridgestone has ever made, IMO.

Steering. A+. Think of a line and the car just follows it with little or no mid corner correction. They also have a nose for finding the apex.

Power traction. A+. No wheel spin at all.

Braking traction. A. Very good.

Cornering grip: A++++ with a gold star for zero squeal. You don't need it because you can actually feel the road through the electric steering. I don't know how they did it but it's cool. I was going through corners at 8/10ths+ and when I took a break I saw no sign of rollover, the scrub line was about an inch away from the true end of the tread layer, which drops down around the shoulder a bit. After looking at that, I tried several corners at speeds that would ordinarily scare me on a public road but all I got was predictable grip and no drama at all. In fact they grip so hard I'm going to dial in a little more damping into my KW's - the G's they can create overwhelmed the suspension just a bit on these bumpy roads. I might even buy uprated sway bars too. They just have so much more grip that I have to re-balance the car to keep up!

One negative note - the compound is quite soft so I don't expect a lot of miles from them. Just driving on the street, when I park the car there's a little bit of street stuck to the tires.

Overall, the car just feels a lot lighter and the steering is far more precise. The additional grip is a bonus but I can't safely test the limits until I put it on a track. Next month, NASA event at Buttonwillow Raceway, near Bakersfield CA.

Tip: Have the front toe set just beyond the factory specs. My current setting is -.02
awesome review and thank you for the info

I still just wish they had some larger sizes for this initial offering.
I would love to stick with my 265/305 setup.

what size did you go with? not sure what your setup is.
