Yes, I know what jackknifing means. But when it (used to) happen on that road, you could be going around a corner with zero visibility and then encounter a stationary trailer that spans both lanes with nowhere to turn off the road or stop in time. That is how a lot of people have died on that road :-\
Glad they finally banned trucks from that road. I have also driven the Pacific Coast Highway north of San Francisco and it is an amazing experience, it is both beautiful and full of technical twists and turns... the biggest danger on that road is rockslides and nature is less compliant than truckers
