Agree with those that say can't get weight under 3,000. Miata is only 167 hp, FRS 200 hp from the factory. Supporting drivetrain can be much smaller/lighter to support this. 400+ hp does require everything to be stronger/heavier unless very expensive materials are used. Low 3K would be excellent, IMHO.
Just another side note, Miata sold under 4,800 in the US last year, Z's sold over 7k. I'm guessing that if Nissan pumps up the Z to over 400 hp, they'll see a dramatic increase in sales.
