You don't have to, but we would highly recommend it if you had it professionally installed. Only because we remove the bumpers, doors, mirrors, headlights and taillights, etc to install. Those areas in between would be a pain to try to remove if you were to do it yourself in a timely fashion. Film removal can be a tricky thing as well if you don't understand the tension angles and proper temperatures for adhesive release. You could end up with a lot of glue left on the car, or in rare cases, damaging the clearcoat.
