Four tips for buying/selling:
1. Invoice pricing on brand new car, just released for a given MY = NADA yellow book; useful for trade in as well.
Also look into current dealer incentives and dealer holdback (I believe 3% on Nissans?)
2. Actual (auction) value on a vehicle at least a year old (or to see depreciation from retail over the years...) = Hearst Blackbook
3. Hoping for the best defensible asking price when selling privately = Kelley Blue Book
4. MSRP = sucker price, always and forever, and anything above that is 1000 generations of raping and pillaging pricing.
