I think (personally) it kicks less than my Remington 700 7mm Mag.
The Scope is a Vortex scope MOA mil-dot ....6x30x50
the scope is retailed for around $1,100 , I got it with the military discount so I got the scope a little cheaper, but that is the price regularly for it ... so all in all.......... 1500 + 1,100 =$2,600 or so in total. vs 8-10k for the barrett without a scope... that's one HELL of a bargain.
and if you think about it ....... $1,500 Lapua Magnum vs $9,000-10k Barrett and the Lapua shoots as far and is as accurate , but for 7.5k less, that's a bargain worth investing .
and the ammo, though still expensive ...not as expensive as the Barrett. I think with the Barrett it costs you around $20 a shot ..... the Lapua is $10 a shot.... I have a buddy that reloads his own shells ( has the same gun as I do, but its the 110 BA version instead of the 110 FCP ) and its cheaper to do it that way instead of buying new ones regularly , plus you know exactly what your shooting everytime versus say.... new bullets.

I had put together a 300 Kong. Never did like shooting that rifle. That rifle was more about recoil management instead of trigger control.
So I sold it for what I had in it. That last about year and a half ago. Figure I was done with rifles like that. Wrong, I got the bug again.
Been researching the 338LM lately. Looking for one that I don't have to put much it to it. The Savage got my interest. Also looking at a few others. Remington with the aluminium chassis for one. But most of them are over 3 grand. So I'm still deciding. I reload, so the price don't bother me. But getting powder is another issue. I'm been on backorder for 8 months for 8lbs of TAC and ARComp for my AR's.
