It all depends on why they replaced it. I'd bet that it was defective rather than trashed by the previous owner. Nissan is really cheap and it is unlikely that they would warranty the transmission due to abuse. Akin to the motor replacement due to excessive oil consumption, it is a defect rather than owner abuse.

That kind of rubbed me the wrong way so I took my deposit back and passed on the car. I figured if the transmission went bad then I don't know how the car was driven, although the dealership insists that the only owner was a former service manager there.
