Alright... I want to vet this setup with the gurus. I've done some reading and spent a lot of time with offset and tire calculators. Just want to make sure I am not missing anything before I pull the trigger.
My baseline in terms of looks are the sports rays w/ 15mm FR and 20mm RR spacers. In other words I want to be flush, i.e. put a straight edge on the wheel/tire and have it line right up with the fender. Seems like the 15/20mm spacer setup accomplishes just that (from photos on this forum). So that effectively gives:
FR = 19x9 +32
RR = 19x10 +10
Vossen VFS1 Wheels:
FR = 20x10 +45
RR = 20x10.5 +15 (+25 w/ a 10mm spacer in the case of the VFS1)
Using the stock 245/275 tire config, and with an effort come close to the stock wheel diameters/circumferences. Also taking in to account the fact that I prefer the tire to portrude/extend slightly beyond the wheel. I came up with the following.
Michelin Super Sport Tires:
FR = 285r30-20
RR = 305r30-20
That's spot on in the front, and adds .6" to the rear for the diameter.
As far as suspension I am ordering the KW v3 Coilovers and camber arms/links/etc this week, so I guess I can adjust the height to suit the tire/wheel combo.
My questions:
-Will it fit without rubbing, on relatively sane/stock camber settings?
-How will it handle in terms of steering weight, understeer, etc for daily/street use?
-Would this be a completely stupid setup to put on a track/autox course? I understand the concept of unsprung weight (mostly haha) and plan to use my stock wheels in a similar configuration 275/305 in the future, but the itch to hit an event might happen before I go in for a second set of tires.
