I've looked around at all the new stuff out there and right now, an old car to restore/build is just more appealing to me and how I'd rather spend my money. New cars are nice and flashy for a few years, then it gets boring and is forgotten, especially once a new gen comes out. I want something that is classic. Think 240z/510. I think the newest I'll go is an MKIV Supra. Yeah it won't be the fastest or have the tech gadgets, but that's ok with me.
