Armed with all the information I've read on this forum and others, I called the dealership first and conveyed my suspicions. The service rep thought it might be my battery, but this proved not the case. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs yesterday, was issued a case number and got a call back from them this morning. Once I get a diagnosis from the dealer, we will go to the next step. I also have a Quality-Guard Plus Supreme service contract that is in effect until 72,000 miles (I'm at 52,000) and the CA rep told me the dealer would have to let me know if the steering lock issue is covered. If it isn't, I plan to raise holy hell! The flatbed tow truck comes tomorrow morning at 8:00. I'll post an update.
