I bought a
Shooting Chrony Alpha (not an vendor endorsement, just the first page I found) recently. Have only used it with air guns, so far, but it seems to be a good unit for the price. It can be picky about the lighting when used indoors* but very reliable outdoors. The Alpha model has limited (32 shots), non-permanent storage of data plus gives high, low, mean, and standard deviation. Some of the other models have remotes, and expanded, permanent memory. Very easy to setup and use. The diffusers seem a little flimsy where they "splice" together but not that bad and I don't need them with my current setup. So far, I'm very pleased with the unit.
*I tried some incandescent, gooseneck lamps and that worked well but was cumbersome to setup/takedown. Now using a 500W quartz tungsten lamp on a stand. Lamp is pointed at the ceiling. Will be trying lower wattage bulbs.
