regarding comparing to nicd, the main difference is the capacity, battery memory and ease of maintenance, if you take those facts into consideration, you will find the lipo battery is a much better battery...

thanks mr.alcheng. i definitely like the fact that most lipos are 5000mah, balance charge, and appears to have a more constant drain and voltage than nicd. are lipo's lighter in weight too? that would also be a

i still use these 15yr old side by side nicd that i assembled for my rc and place it on those ancient analog discharger/conditioner after each run to balance the cells individually.. most of them are high-end cells i bought so the individual cells are matched and charge/discharge almost identically.

this is one of the reasons why my nicds last forever, and use charge rate no more than 3.25A for 2000mAh.

those shotgun style sport packs (nicd and nimh) suck. can't discharge the stronger cells to balance with the weaker cells, so i could never get a solid charge on all the cells.

speaking of forever, my G's battery is still the factory one from 2004.
