Converting something that is already compressed back to lossless is pointless. It tries to fill in info that was lost. When you rip a cd directly to the best format that will make sure your getting the best. But this is one of those subjects that can be argued until the cows come home. I say one thing you say another. Either way I still say the best format is either cd or loss less.
