I had two inattentive drivers on my way home that I thought I was going to have to complain about. But to my surprise they followed instructions quite well. I'm still going to rant though
( Click to show/hide )
The first just pulled out in front of stopped traffic but continued to block well after we were green. I was somehow able to make it clear that she had room to pull up, and when she did it freed up the lane to my right. She couldn't see due to some other stopped vehicles, but I could and was able to motion her to go when it was clear. She slowly pulled out and sheepishly waved in my direction. I missed the light.
The second guy was about to be a complete di
ck
, but I wasn't having any of that. Left hand lane of three lanes that go straight with two left turn lanes to the left. We're stopped at the light and the guy in front of me decides he wants to turn left. The rear bumper of the last car in the adjacent left turn lane is about even with the front of this guy's car, so he puts his blinker on and proceeds to inch forward into the left turn lane. And stop. I gave him a very brief horn tap, and he gave me a very brief 4 foot reverse and forward motion that did basically nothing. And stops. This time I gave him a long honk while shaking my head. When he looked back in his rear view mirror, I gave him a motion to back up. The lanes are big (60 mph road) and there was lots of room. He was able to back up and maneuver completely behind the adjacent vehicle into the far left turn lane. Thank you. And yes, it is a lagging left turn in the light cycle.
