Update:

I just got back from fooling around with the clutch some more. After pressurizing (pumping pedal and holding it down) I have cracked the line at the master cylinder to bleed there and at the normal bleeder valve down by the bell housing. I hear the exact same creak noise I was hearing while operating the pedal when I release clutch pressure by opening the line at those two places.

So how exactly does the clutch system operate? Which cylinder would move when pressure is released? The clutch pedal is being held to the floor the whole time so I know it is not moving at all.
