The Strat was custom built in 1989 to "pre CBS" standards, basically an early '60's version. It is typical of a guitar used in that era though as far as electronics, humbucker in the bridge and neck, second position wired as two single coils, locking tuning keys...... but it is a great playing guitar, I never use it anymore. My Les Paul is a 1975 standard, can't play a Gibson anymore, my hands are so used to a Fender neck now. I play the Tele exclusively now. It's a 52 reissue that's been modded, Harmonic Design SD 90 pickup in the bridge, a P-90 clone that looks just like a Tele bridge pickup. The neck pickup is a Rio Grange Muy Grande, sounds liks a Strat Neck pickup. A no-load tone control and capitor and resistor across the volume so the high end doesn't roll off when the volume is cranked down. It's a blues/rock beast....... my main axe now.
