So this weekend the GF and I were in Hermann Mo for some wine tastings. We got lost on an old gravel road, and on the way back down the road we hit a slick spot on a downhill with an unexpected turn at the top of the hill on the other side. The traction control and ABS kicked in and straightened me out rather than letting me turn. It was snowing about 2 inches and turning into ice as soon as it hit the ground because it was only 32 degrees out. We ended up in the ditch, but everyone is fully okay.
I was in my Subaru Forester XT on general altimax arctics (some of the best snow tires out there). It just goes to show that it doesn't matter if you have AWD, RWD, FWD or whatever, you're still at risk of sliding, even on good winter tires. If I was in my Z I think it would have been a lot worse than it actually was.
Stay safe out there this winter guys! Make sure you always have some sort of small roadside emergency kit because you never know when it'll come in handy.
