Wait.... you had them powdercoat the wheels while it was on the car or not? Do any of the lugnuts come loose? What kind of tool are you using?

I suggest using a torque wrench. Put some electrical tape around your socket so you don't scratch the wheels. Be prepared to grunt while trying to loosen the bolts. Take 2 aspirin and try again.
