By "strip" do you mean an aftermarket tint strip, or the speckled dots behind the mirror?
If it is a tint strip, just go get it redone with higher quality film. When I got mine done, I got 3M Color Stable because it supposedly does not block signals. That being said, I did not do a window strip, not my style.

If you don't like 3M, I'm sure Llumar, or your preferred tint brand also has a non-metallic tint.
