The money I paid the local dealer for the fob was on my credit card but has nothing to do with the original dealership. As far as going to Quebec it wasn't a first choice. I couldn't find the same car anywhere in Ontario for anywhere near the same price and condition. I actually went to my local dealer a week before I picked the car up and told them if they could somehow get the one I bought on a dealer trade I'd write them a cheque as soon as it arrived. They didn't offer to try to get it shipped so I ended up having to go to pick it up.
As far as the language issue, Montreal is quite different than Quebec City. Montreal has become a huge tourist area and the locals I believe at least try to accommodate visitors and aren't so assholish (I just made that word up
) to non-French speaking people. I bought the car about 2.5 hours away from Montreal deeper into Quebec and into the 'old' area where they don't give a crap about tourism because there's nothing to do in that particular area. It's not even the fact that they didn't 'serve' me in English (which I fully didn't expect), but the salesguy won't even answer my e-mails now and is hiding from the issue. It's just baffling for them to just be able to completely ignore someone that bought a vehicle from them two weeks ago.
