Default Skyline Drive - November 2nd

That's right! The leaves are turning along with the weather. I'd like to get one last cruise in before hibernating for the winter.

Plan is to meet up Sunday, November 2nd at 10am at the Afton Mountain Convenience Store at the southern end of the Skyline Drive just west of Waynesboro/Fishersville area off I-64.

Depart at 10:30 sharp!

Please don't be the late one calling asking everyone to hang back another 15 minutes. Some of us have a 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive home after the cruise. Please show respect and be on time. If you are late, catch up.

We will stop for pictures along the way a few times when it is ideal. I will have four handheld radios that I will distribute accordingly. I see no reason for anyone to get lost but if someone in the back needs to stop for any reason then I'd like to be able to get the entire group off the road together. There is no official number as to how many will show up at this time. But if you do plan on attending, please post your intentions. If you post, more will come.

We will drive the entire length and end at Front Royal where we will stop for lunch/dinner. I've tentatively decided on Joe's Steakhouse as they have damn near everything that everyone could want. No child goes hungry! But ultimately the group will decide where to go. The drive and dinner should conclude no later than 5pm.

Rain date- Nov. 9th If the forecast is horrible as of Friday afternoon before the cruise and there are serious calls for heavy rain we will push to the following week. If the forecast is mostly in our favor and even if there is a chance of rain it will go as planned. It's not a high-speed cruise so it should be of no consequence. But pray for sun! It worked for the "bridges" cruise!

As a side note. I will be there early on Saturday checking out the surrounding area and wineries and such. If anyone wishes to meet up, let me know.
