^In CA, it had a lot more to do with the fact that law enforcement got FAR MORE stricter when they caught people street racing. If you get caught street racing, they can impound your car and destroy it (compact it). The street racing scene has died down a lot if not completely disappeared. Plus, too many idiots killed innocent bystanders or themselves or the idiots who challenged them (lost control of the car), or all of the above. Plus, since CA is the most populated state with cars, the smog laws are very strict. When I had my swapped CRX, although it just had Eibachs and a subtle (non fart can) muffler, cops used to pull me over at least 2, 3 times a year. I got sick of it. Plus, I thought the scene was getting ghetto and immature (especially as I was hitting my later 20s). Cops were making people pop their hoods because stolen DOHC VTECs were becoming common in CA.

If a resurgence of "Type R" happens...it'll be like a 'not so exciting' sequel to a movie. Plus Integra Type-Rs were almost $30,000 new. They're still $25,000 used for clean examples. The import scene here in CA had its best days. It was a fad at best.
